Mike Bordelon

Please pass on the need for support of a fun -filled Sunday May 15th for my cousin and his family.

Tragically, on February 5th of this year as Mike Bordelon headed home after work from Liuzza's restaurant, he was waiting at a red light on Canal Street when a drunk driver traveling 80 miles per hour slammed into the back of his car, ramming it into an iron gate. Mike was in a coma and in intensive care.. Three weeks after the accident he was transferred to another hospital for physical therapy and now faces many more months if not years of rehabilitation in dealing with his traumatic brain injury. Michael’s insurance has maxed out and the drunken driver (an eight-time DWI offender!) only had $25,000 worth of coverage which has yet to be collected.
Liuzza Palooza 2011 will take place across the street from Liuzza’s on Bienville on Sunday, May 15, 2011, from 11am to 5pm. Gifts for the silent auction are much appreciated. Monetary donations are tax deductible as they are being accepted through the Louisiana Hospitality Foundation, a 501c3 organization. 100% of the money donated through the foundation is dedicated to offset Michael’s medical and rehabilitation costs

To give you a small idea of what we have in store,
*Rockin’ Dopsie has generously committed to perform at the festival, and several other talented musicians are interested in performing.
*top chefs and restaurants ( Galatoire's and Drago's are two that I know of) donating time, talent, and treasure to make this a culinary celebration.
*The Taste Buds will be on hand, giving live cooking demonstrations throughout the day featuring the world’s best, fresh Louisiana Seafood and other local ingredients.
This is truly a worthy and needy cause.  Whatever you feel called to do would be greatly appreciated.  Thank you in advance for your prayerful support.
Gratefully, MA
